____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Kata kunci: parasitemia, Trypanosoma evansi, Wedelia biflora ABSTRACT This research was aimed at investigating decrease percentage of parasitemia as an indicator of anti trypanosomal activity of sernai leaves (Wedelia biflora) extracts on rat (Rattus novergicus) infected with Trypanosoma evansi. This research was using completely randomized design. Subjects were 20 male rats randomly assigned to 4 groups consisting of 5 rats. Group K1 (positive control) were rats infected with 10 3 T. evansi, group K2, K3 and K4 were rats infected with 10 3 T. evansi and treated with 30, 45 and 60 mg/kg body of sernai leaves extract. Infection was performed by intra peritoneal injection and sernai leaves extract was given orally for 3 consecutive days. Result of this research showed that percentage of parasitemia from KII, KIII, and KIV rats were lower than those of control rats (KI). It can be concluded that infection of T. evansi increase percentage of parasitemia of rats and administration various doses of sernai leaves extract decrease percentage of parasitemia in rats.____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
