Este artigo faz uma análise de duas cartilhas de alfabetização matemática denominadas Mein Rechenbuch (Meu livro de cálculo). Ambas foram produzidas em 1933 pela editora Rotermund, que na época estava ligada a instituição luterana pertencente ao sínodo evangélico Rio-Grandense. Essas cartilhas tinham como objetivo promover aprendizado matemático, embasadas em princípios étnicos, culturais e raciais. O estudo apoia-se na análise documental, sendo necessário contextualizar o documento, no caso aqui, as cartilhas, no tempo de sua produção (BACELLAR, 2008). Os recursos didáticos, representados nesses materiais, promoviam a aprendizagem do conhecimento matemático, integralizado como o espaço de vivência dos sujeitos. As atividades analisadas nas cartilhas matemáticas revelam o direcionamento pedagógico para a própria realidade social e política da imigração, reforçando hábitos, costumes e tradições desses grupos étnicos, a partir dos espaços vivenciados. O conteúdo das cartilhas, não só serviu de estímulo para melhorar as habilidades de cálculo mental e resolução de problemas, a partir do cotidiano das comunidades teuto-brasileiras, mas foi, também, um meio efetivo de propagar ideários étnicos e raciais.
Resumo Neste artigo, buscou-se analisar a representação de gênero, especialmente no que concerne aos papéis de trabalho atribuídos ao homem e à mulher, presente nas ilustrações das cartilhas Mein Rechenbuch (“Meu livro de cálculo”) e Fibel für Deutsche Schulen in Brasilien (“Cartilha para as escolas alemãs no Brasil”), produzidas pela editora Rotermund, que era vinculada ao Sínodo Rio-Grandense. Elaboradas em língua alemã, essas cartilhas se destinavam a atender escolas sinodais ligadas às igrejas luteranas, que atuavam junto às colônias de imigrantes alemães-pomeranos na região meridional do Rio Grande do Sul. Objetivou-se, assim, no decorrer do estudo, identificar possíveis direcionamentos sociais dados por intermédio do modo de organização do trabalho ilustrado nas cartilhas. Nesse contexto, observou-se que as relações sociais representadas são construções étnicas e culturais historicamente instituídas, integrantes de um processo que envolveu instituições escolares e religiosas.
Resumo O estudo tem por objetivo analisar um conjunto de recursos textuais e visuais presentes em duas cartilhas utilizadas em escolas teuto-brasileiras, de modo a compreender como tais recursos contribuíram para o que se convencionou denominar como alfabetização étnico-cultural dos sujeitos a que se destinavam. A análise documental possibilitou concluir que o conteúdo das cartilhas contemplava o contexto rural e as práticas socioculturais dos estudantes, como modo de interlocução com os mesmos.
