SnO nanoparticles as an efficient and recyclable catalyst have been successfully prepared and were used as a heterogeneous catalyst for the one-pot synthesis of 3,4,5-substituted furan-2(5H)-ones by the three-component reaction of aniline derivatives, dialkyl acetylene dicarboxylate, and aromatic aldehydes in ethanolic medium at room temperature. This work consistently has the advantages of excellent yields, short reaction time, simple workup, and recyclability of the catalyst up to six runs without appreciable loss of activity.
Synthesis of 3,4,5-Substituted Furan-2(5H)-ones. -The title compounds (IV) are obtained in excellent yields by three-component reaction of aniline derivatives, acetylenedicarboxylate, and aromatic aldehydes. The catalyst is reusable up to six times without any significant loss of activity. -(SAFAEI-GHOMI*, J.; HEIDARI-BAGHBAHADORANI, E.; SHAHBAZI-ALAVI, H.; Monatsh. A simple method has been developed for the synthesis of [(5-hydroxy-3-methyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)(phenyl)methyl]propanedinitriles and 6-amino-4-aryl-3-methyl-2,4-dihydro pyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole-5-carbonitrile derivatives through a one-pot four-component condensation reaction of aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile, ethyl acetoacetate and hydrazine hydrate using ZnFe 2 O 4 nanoparticles under solvent-free conditions. This has the advantages of excellent yields, short reaction times, simple workup and environmentally benign.
