La presente investigación analiza los efectos de las características de localización y vecindario sobre la probabilidad de que un micronegocio emprendido por una mujer sea objeto de robo en una de las metrópolis más importantes de México: la Zona Metropolitana de Monterrey. El método utilizado consistió en un análisis descriptivo de la geografía del robo y la aplicación de un modelo de elección discreta binaria. Los datos para tal efecto fueron recopilados de los reportes de la Procuraduría General de Justicia del Estado de Nuevo León del año 2016. Entre los principales resultados se encontró que las mujeres sufren menos robos que los hombres debido a las características de vecindario y, en menor medida, de localización, en particular en los municipios de Monterrey, Santa Catarina, Guadalupe y Apodaca.
