The issue taken in consideration for this study is related to the extensive involvement of children in social media web pages and especially Facebook’s social network. The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between the level of engagement of pupils in social network sites and their performance of academic achievement. The methods used in the study are secondary data review and quantity methods. The population of this survey is school pupils between 10 to 15 years old. The sample was 1323 pupils surveyed in this study, selected at random from elementary and secondary schools. The data analysis focuses primarily in regressive models of the logistic binary. The study findings revealed a high level of pupils' involvement in social networks and mainly on Facebook's social network. It was also shown that the social network Facebook has a negative impact on the learning objectives of pupils who have opened an address compared to others who don’t have an address in this network. Modern technologies are developing rapidly and the relationship between teachers, parents and pupils must function effectively through continuous communication on the effects of social network sites on their learning process.
Social media has a great impact on student's lives. They spend a considerable part of their time on these pages. Social media includes social networking sites (SNSs), virtual gaming sites, video sites, projects sites and blogs. Millions of students are using these Web 2.0 tools worldwide, there hasn't been much research regarding the educational use of social networking. The purpose of this study is to investigate attitudes toward the use of social media in learning process. The findings suggest that social media and social network sites in particular can be very useful as an educational tool. Students using SNSs as a supplement to their curriculum showed that they loved spending time on SNSs, and exercises, videos and other sharing in group are useful for their academic purposes. The paper concludes with suggestions for improving academic purpose and it highlights the fact that every educator must regard how their current teaching standard can be improved or how they could perhaps be replaced because of a prevalent web.
Students in recent years spend a considerable amount of time on social networking web-sites. They have made online access and navigation through these sites part of their daily activities. The impact of social network sites in particular has become a major subject of discussion among various studies, because some of them see these pages as a threat or obstacle, while the rest argue that them affects positively the age of adolescence. A quantitative, descriptive and exploratory survey was conducted to identify the impact of this involvement on adolescents’ behaviour that affect their psychological development. The research sample consisted of 893 students, between the ages 10-15 years, users of the social network sites. This champion has been taken from middle school institutions from different cities of Albania. The analysis of the study results confirmed that students are using social network sites for a long time during the day. They have become addicted to them and they already display some behaviour patterns. As a conclusion, the study found that the inclusion in social network sites, if students spend a considerable amount of time on them, has a negative impact in their psychological problems. Parents, teachers and students need to communicate with each other in order to identify and avoid the risks of social network sites and also other studies should be done in this field and suggest different strategies to manage the psychological problems caused by the use of social networking sites.
The purpose of this study is to assess the perception and use of social network ( Facebook ) by teenagers in Albania through mobile devices and to highlight its positive and negative impacts. Research method is descriptive. A questionnaire was designed and the sample taken was of age between 13-18 years old. The results showed an intense use of the social network, Facebook. The respondents access more often in their profiles but do not make posts. Positive impacts that have been are: strong relationship with family, relatives, friends and much more involvement in social, political and cultural activities whereas the negative impact were result of lack of studying and the long time they spent in this network. The respondents are mainly taken from several major cities in Albania, so we cannot make a generalization for the whole country. This research aims to show the importance that the social network, Facebook has on teenagers.
