Este texto apresenta análises pontuais sobre as práticas médicas de cura aplicadas a mulheres em Belém (PA), nos primeiros anos do século XX. Para ampliação do debate, foram utilizados como fontes artigos publicados na revista científica Pará-Médico, editada no início do século XX. Observou-se que as transformações dos saberes médicos sobre os corpos e as doenças que atingiam as mulheres trouxeram novos significados para as práticas de cura, novos métodos foram implantados, medicamentos administrados e exames modernos foram experimentados para adentrar com mais propriedade no universo das doenças que acometiam as mulheres à época, tensionando os campos éticos e morais dos saberes populares e cientificistas. Curar mulheres e seus males também consistiu em lidar com ações curativas específicas, por vezes incipientes e experimentais, e minadas pelas relações de poder, que circunscreveram determinadas práticas e medicamentos nos campos das tensões relacionais de gênero.
