A prematuridade é a principal causa associada à mortalidade infantil e, a imaturidade anátomo-fisiológica do prematuro aumenta sua susceptibilidade a morbidades. O objetivo deste estudo foi caracterizar o perfil e o início do suporte nutricional de prematuros em unidade intensiva de hospital público de ensino do Paraná. Estudo prospectivo quantitativo, realizado de janeiro a abril de 2020. Verificaram-se 16 internações; prevalência do sexo masculino (56,3%); e nascimentos cirúrgicos (62,5%). Dividiram-se entre prematuros extremos e muito prematuros; peso extremamente baixo (50,0%); Apgar ≥7 no 5º minuto (75,0%); todos apresentaram complicações respiratórias; ocorrência de um óbito; 81,3% receberam nutrição parenteral e/ou enteral até 72 horas de vida, subcategorizados, 87,5% dos prematuros extremos receberam nutrição parenteral até o terceiro dia, e 100,0% dos muito prematuros, nutrição enteral. O (re) conhecimento do cenário propicia a qualificação da atenção às gestantes e aos recém-nascidos, com repercussão na sobrevida.
A caracterização dos pacientes atendidos em unidades de terapia intensiva neonatal contribui para a gestão dos leitos e o planejamento do cuidado neonatal com impacto na melhoria do estado de saúde e na redução da mortalidade infantil. O objetivo foi caracterizar o perfil dos neonatos internados na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva, em hospital infantil público do Paraná. Estudo transversal quantitativo, com dados de 2018. Verificaram-se 235 internações; 55,7% do sexo masculino; 46,0% no período neonatal precoce; 54,0% nasceram de parto vaginal, 59,5% prematuros; 54,8% apresentaram baixo peso ao nascer; 59,1% das mães eram procedentes da Regional de Saúde Metropolitana; a mediana do tempo de internação foi de 19 dias. A principal condição de internação foi a prematuridade (13,1%), como desfecho prevalente a alta para enfermaria (86,0%); cinco óbitos (2,1%). O problema de saúde pública dos países em desenvolvimento constituído pelo nascimento prematuro é reiterado, e reforça a necessidade de serviços qualificados.
Objetivo: identificar as evidências sobre o cuidado desenvolvimental de recém-nascidos prematuros em unidade de terapia intensiva neonatal. Método: revisão de escopo, conforme as diretrizes do Instituto Joanna Briggs ® e do PRISMA-ScR. Realizou-se a busca em três bases de dados, Pubmed/MEDLINE, SCOPUS e Web of Science, mediante descritores e sinônimos. A coleta de dados ocorreu de agosto de 2019 a janeiro de 2020. Resultados: incluíram-se 15 estudos, publicados entre 1997 e 2018. Identificou-se a abordagem direta ao Programa Individualizado de Avaliação e Cuidados Centrados no Desenvolvimento (NIDCAP) em três estudos, os demais discorrem sobre a filosofia do cuidado e apresentam estratégias comumente recomendadas pelo programa, sem descrevê-las, a exemplo: uso de sacarose durante procedimentos dolorosos; desenvolvimento de protocolo de cuidados; Método Canguru; música; redução da dor e do estresse durante o exame de retinopatia; voz materna; e método de banho enrolado. Conclusão: quanto aos efeitos das estratégias desenvolvimentais aplicadas, observou-se melhora no desenvolvimento cerebral, na competência funcional e na qualidade de vida dos neonatos muito prematuros, minimizando as influências ambientais negativas. Reitera-se que a família é parte essencial do cuidado desenvolvimental, assim como o envolvimento responsável da equipe de Enfermagem que deve ser norteado pelas diretrizes da filosofia do cuidado.
