This study aims to investigate El Niño Modoki phenomenon and its influence to monsoonal rainfall behavior over Indonesia. The study is also intended to identify the differences between the El Niño Modoki and the well-known El Niño events, referred in this study as Conventional El Niño. Power Spectral Density and Wavelet analysis shows a different strength in the temporal cycle of both events, four years interannual cycles of Nino-4 index and nearly decadal (~10 years) cycles of EMI data.
Masyarakat yang masih kental dengan pengaruh kebiasaan Praktik tradisional dalam hal pertanian adalah Masyarakat Sindang. Masyarakat Sindang adalah masyarakat asli Kota Lubuklinggau yang sebagian besar menetap di pelosok kota Lubuklinggau. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkap bagaimana praktik perkebunan kopi yang dilaukan masyarakat Sindang dan memberikan rekomendasi pembangunan perkebunan kopi masyarakat sindang. Metode yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan emik dan etik dengan metode observasi wawancara terbuka dan terstruktur. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan ethnoagriculture perkebunan kopi pada masyarakat sindang dilakukan dengan tahapan Pembukaan Lahan, Penanaman, Pemeliharaan, Pengendalian Hama dan Penyakit, Pemanenan, Pasca Panen dan Pemasaran secara sederhada dan tradisional. Pembangunan perkebunan kopi masyarakat sindang dapat dilakukan dengan pengembangan sistem pertanian yang lebih konservatif, Melakukan penanaman tanaman pertanian yang lebih beragam guna untuk meningkatkan nilai fungsi lahan pertanian, Melakukan pengelolaan pasca panen untuk memberi nilai lebih, Mengadakan pelatihan/penyuluhan tentang manajemen keorganisasian dan pengelolaan perkebunan.Kata Kunci: Tradisional, Sindang, Perkebunan Kopi.
Social forestry was expected to improve the welfare of local communities by supporting people who live near the forest and rely on its natural resources while preserving their forests. The social forestry business was focused on managing all potential resources (Non-Timber Forest Products and Timber Forest Products) over its area's development as well as environmental services. In this regard, providing only legal access is not quite sufficient. It should be followed by strengthening business capital for forest farmers as their most basic problem was limited capital for their business development. The government has answered this matter by providing a Revolving Fund Facility, also known as Fasilitas Dana Bergulir (FDB), to forest farmers. In accordance with those elaborations, this study aimed to analyze forest farmers’ characteristics who received the FDB program benefits and to investigate the FDB impact on their Economic. This study was conducted on the selected community forest farmers group in Tebat Pulau Village as the largest beneficiaries of the fund in Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu Province. This study uses exploratory and descriptive-analytical methods. The economic impact of the FDB Program is increased production (76%), income, and employment (20%). Regression analysis proves that land area, number of workers, and partnerships positively affect income. The types of partnerships that have been carried out are bringing in Off Takers, capital support, education and training, equipment assistance, provide counselling. Furthermore, the determinants of income are the number of workers, the proportion of transportation costs, the proportion of input costs, the type of partnership, the appropriate use of funds, and their involvement in planning.
Besarnya limbah kulit kopi tersebut berpotensi sebagai bahan pencemar di lingkungan jika tidak dikelolah dengan baik. Pembuatan pupuk kompos berbahan kulit kopi sebagai pupuk organik merupakan upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk menekan dampak yang ditimbulkan oleh limbah kulit kopi dan sekaligus sebagai upaya perbaikan kualitas tanah. Kegiatan sosialisasi ini bertujuan untuk memberikan kesadaran dan pemahaman dampak yang ditimbulkan dari limbah kulit kopi dan sekaligus cara memanfaatkan limbah tersebut. Kegiatan ini dilakukan pada kelompok Usaha Perhutanan Sosial (KUPS) Register Lima di Desa Tebat Pulau kecamatan Bermani ulu Kabupaten Rejang Lebong Provinsi Bengkulu Metode penyuluhan dan diskusi interaktif melalui aplikasi zoom meeting. Melalui kegiatan ini ini pemahaman masyarakat terkait pemanfaatan limbah kulit kopi dalam perbaikan kualitas tanah meningkat.
Coffee as one of export commodities requires a good management strategy to maintain its continuity while also increasing both quality and quantity, for example by developing more efficient agricultural techniques. The purpose of this study was to reveal the knowledge of farmers in Taba Tebelet Village about a good smallholder coffee plantation management and give priority to coffee plantation management recommendations. A survey was required to collect primary and secondary data. Observation results and structured interviews were considered as primary data and secondary data were supporting data used for qualitative analysis. The technique used for data collection through survey was called snowball technique which was based on the random sample selection method. The focus of recommendations for good smallholder coffee plantation management in Kepahiang Regency was obtained through SWOT analysis, then to determine the priority of those management recommendations using QSPM (Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix) analysis. The SWOT analysis has resulted 4 recommendations of management. They were (1) intensive and organic farming (TAS 1.36); (2) conducting training/counseling on organizational and plantation management (TAS 0.63); (3) legality of coffee quality (TAS 0.22); and (4) public-private partnership related to the procurement of production input for coffee plantations (TAS 0.46). The priority for a coffee plantation management strategy was determined based on the order of TAS value (Total Attractive Score), where the implementation of the highest score should be prioritized in overcoming deficiencies and threats that occur in coffee plantations
