structure structure (solids and liquids) D 2000 04 -005 X-Ray and Neutron Rietveld Analysis of the Solid Solutions (1x)Ln 2 Ti 2 O 7 ·xMgTiO 3 (Ln: Y or Eu). -Powder samples of the novel solid solutions in the composition range (1-x)Ln 2 Ti 2 O 7 · xMgTiO 3 (Ln:Y, x = 0-0.4; Ln: Eu, x = 0-0.55) are prepared by reaction of Ln 2 O 3 , TiO 2 , and Mg by sequential heating to 1050 • C and the structures of the samples Ln 2(1−x ) Mg 2x Ti 2 O 7−x (x' = x/2-x) with Ln: Y, x' = 0.20, i.e. x = 0.33 and Ln: Eu, x' = 0.33, i.e. x = 0.50 are analyzed by neutron and X-ray diffraction methods. In the cation of the title salt, C6H7N2S+·SCN−, the C=S bond is oriented trans with respect to the C—C=N fragment in the pyridine ring. The planes of the aromatic ring and the thioamide fragment of the cation make a dihedral angle of 38.31 (4)°. In the crystal, the components are linked by N—H⋯S and N—H⋯N, hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional network parallel to (10-1).
