This current study purposed to investigate the use of multimedia-assisted learning in a flipped classroom for fostering the students’ autonomous learning on EFL University. The students are encouraged to learn independently by having multimedia learning sources and they are also stimulated to find their difficulties in the learning process. Meanwhile, teacher and students are discussing the solution from the students’ difficulties during their independent learning in the classroom. The successful completion of pre-learning depends on the students’ responsibilities and motivations. 15 students of the English Education department were involved as the participants in this study. The data were collected through observation, questionnaire, and semi-structured interview. The finding of this study showed that a flipped classroom by using multimedia-assisted learning helps the students stimulate their autonomous learning because the students feel free to explore their creativity through an independent learning atmosphere without any tension
The reason for conducting this research was based on consideration that university students majoring in English should be at the level where their English is considered good. Unfortunately, students still made errors in both spoken and written form. In this study, 20 students of English Department at Fajar University enrolled which were taken by total samplingmethod. This research is aimed to provide useful information particularly as referencefor English teachers, lecturers and curriculum developers about the extent of theIndonesian syntactic structure that interfere the students in making English sentence.A mix method was applied in which the data was analysed both qualitatively andquantitatively. The conclusion of the result shows that the students still have problemsin making English sentences. They still make errors in forming English sentences thatbased on the Indonesian form. Further, the most errors are found are the error of omissions. It is proven by the findings that the interference of Indonesian syntactic formis the main cause of student’s error in making English sentence.
The development of learning media that is interesting and relevant to the education system in Indonesia, although the ability of learners is a barrier today. Various development efforts are always done to complement the process of material oblivion that has been given. Learning methods and learning media are two things that cannot be ignored. Having English skills will add value in the context of human resources. But in an academic environment, English is a foreign language that needs to be mastered not only in communication but also in terms of technology and science. The increasingly rapid technological development takes part in the learning development system. Many learning media are used to improve the ability of information or science. Furthermore, this study uses learning management system (LMS) as one of the technology media to improve students' vocabulary. The study focuses on the effort to improve vocabulary mastery by using learning management system. The subjects of this study were the second semester students from informatics department, Universitas Kanjuruhan Malang. The results of this study show that the students are easier to understand the vocabulary used in technology informatics fields. It can be seen that the results of their average of final score is 85.00 improved higher than the previous score, before the use of LMS in the teaching vocabulary, the score is 65.00. It is expected that the result of this study can be one of the alternative way to help students understand the vocabulary easily.
The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of complete vaccination up to the second dose on the mobility of the population to recreational and retail areas that describe tourism activities, to examine the effect of population mobility to recreational and retail areas on the occupancy rate of hotel rooms and to examine the factors that influence the level of high and low the rating value of a hotel or other accommodation service that describes the level of satisfaction with hotel services in East Java. Inferential statistical methods used are time series analysis with ARIMAX, Pearson Correlation Analysis and Ridge Regression Analysis. The data used is a combination of Big Data and Official Statistics. Big Data is obtained from scrapping results in Google Mobility Index (GMI), the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, and www.tiket.com as well as official statistics sourced from the Central Boards of Statistics Indonesia (BPS). Based on the results of ARIMAX, it can be concluded that complete vaccination up to the second dose affects the mobility of the population to recreational and retail areas that indicate tourism activities, then based on the results of the Pearson correlation, it can be concluded that there is a strong and positive correlation between the mobility of residents to recreational areas and room occupancy rates hotels in East Java and based on the Ridge Regression analysis, it can be concluded that there is a positive influence of price appropriateness, cleanliness, service, facilities, and location on consumer ratings that describe the level of satisfaction with hotel services in East Java and the dimension that has the most influence on the level of hotel satisfaction in East Java is price appropriateness
Most nations in the globe have recognized English as an international language. Consequently, English must be used in internationally both spoken and written communication. The people who live in the country which English to be the foreign language or even the second language has to learn it. In order, they can communicate with all people in the world globally. The teaching English as a foreign language in Indonesia has the objective to improve students’ capacity in acquiring the language itself. Among four language skills; reading one of the skill to be learned because by understanding the text, it can help the students to comprehend the knowledge of science and technology. Reading is also the “gate” to acquire science and technology. Through reading the text, the students will gain a lot of knowledge related to their field. Regarding the importance of the students in comprehension of the text, then, the objective of this paper is to give the contribution idea to improve the students reading comprehension skills for university students by using multiple media and creating the effective teaching-learning process in the higher education institutions. The final results of this study showed that the implementation of multiple media improve the students’ ability in comprehending the English text because the student feel enjoys the teaching and learning of reading. It is hoped that the use of various creative multiple media will use not only in reading classroom but also in other subjects of English learning.
