These results confirm that the number of long shoots and flowering potential depend on the cultivar. They indicate that tree architectural plasticity in response to its root system mainly derives from the number of medium shoots developed and follows priorities within the whole tree axis population. There was also evidence for dwarfing rootstock involvement in adjusting the flowering abundance and that differences in flowering occurrence take precedence over those regarding vegetative growth during tree development.
A biological model of dynamics that summarizes the interactions between processes and includes the assumption of a feedback effect of lateral root emergence on leaf emergence is proposed.
ABS'Il{ACT. Flowers and fruits in different developmental stages of Mammillaria rhodantha Link & Otto and M. compressa De Candolle were collected to study the ovule and seed ontogeny. Microscopic slides were made by common techinques. The ovules are campylotropous, crassinucellate and bitegmic. The nucellar curvature of M. rhodantha is 130ºand its micropylar curvature is 25º. The funiculus nearly surrounds the ovule and has no trichomes. In M. compressa the nucellar curvature is 90º and its micropylar curvature is Oº. The funiculus is long and surrounds the ovule incompletely or not at ali. Floristic study of the Cerro Metecatl, of mountain complex Tetzcutzingo, Texcoco, state of México, Mexico AbstractFloristic studies provide information for detailed plant items in a region. It was performed a floristic study in the cerro Metecatl, Estado de México; were described vegetation types and characterized microsites by counting species in 18 sampling units; we analyzed the influence of altitude, orientation and inclination on the floristic composition at the site through multivariate analysis. There were 73 families, 211 genera and 274 species. 62 species are added to the list of Tetzcutzingo. We registered 201 native species and seven endemics for the Valley of Mexico. Species richness is lower in Metecatl regarding Tetzcutzingo, which is related to agricultural activities and environmental factors (humidity, slope, aspect and altitude). We recognized three types of vegetation: Pinus-Quercus forest, scrub Eysenhardtia polystachya and grassland. The cluster analysis differentiated into two groups the Sampling Units, according to the similarity of shared species. The canonical correspondence analysis indicate floristic differences among sites located in the slope north-northeast with respect to the south-southwest side. These results confirm the great floristic richness and of microsites, that together Metecatl and Tetzcutzingo maintain, as an ecological reserve, what becomes releva...
