This study brings the inventory of the Leguminosae species which occur in an area of Ombrophilous Dense Forest from the north coast of the state of São Paulo, in altitudes that vary from the Restinga Forest, close to the sea level, to the vegetation at the top of the Cuscuzeiro Mountain, between 1,000 to 1,279 m of altitude. The floristic survey involved the collecting of herbs, subshrubs, shrubs, trees and lianas and was done going through ranges in the different phytophysiognomies. The Leguminosae family is well represented in the Ombrophilous Dense Forest of Picinguaba Nucleus (108 species), this reinforces the premise that their species play an important role in the composition and structure of this forest. Nineteen species are endemic to the Atlantic Forest. The Ombrophilous Dense Forest of Picinguaba Nucleus has a larger number of taxa of Leguminosae than presented in previous papers, which demonstrates that the presence this family in the forests of the north coast of São Paulo is even more significant than previously estimated. Besides a genera and species list with their corresponding keys to identification, illustrations, information on flowering and fruiting periods, dispersal syndromes geographical distribution are also presented.
-(Leguminosae-Papilionoideae in the Serra do Cabral, Minas Gerais State, Brazil). A floristic survey of the Papilionoideae in the Serra do Cabral is presented. The region is part of a mountain range belonging to the Cadeia do Espinhaço, located between latitudes 17º18'-18º06'S and longitudes 44º43'-44º10'W, with altitudes from 515 to 1,400 m, where the predominant formations are Cerrado and Campos Rupestres. The subfamily is represented in the area by 12 tribes, 34 genera and 62 species. Twenty five species occur only in Brazil, six are endemic to Minas Gerais State and 17 are restricted to Cerrado. The restricted distribution of most species found suggests that the taxa grows only on specific phytophysiognomies and are dependent of the preservation of these habitats for survival. A list of genera and species, with their respective identification keys, data on the geographical distribution and the phytogeographic domains where species occur are presented.
Palavras-chave: Fabaceae, florística, Serra do Japi, São Paulo, leguminosas, taxonomia. AbstractThe semideciduous seasonal forest, physiognomy that covered almost the entire interior of the São Paulo state, is currently represented by only 5% of its original area. This paper presents a survey of mimosoid clade in one of the last areas of continuous vegetation of the state, the Serra do Japi. Twenty four species belonging to eight genera were sampled, of which Mimosa (7 spp.), Inga (6 spp.), Senegalia (5 spp.) and Anadenanthera (2 spp.) were the most diverse genera. The arboreal taxa prevail on this area. Inventoried species are well distributed in the different vegetation types of Brazil. Twelve species are new records for the Serra do Japi and one species to the state. Six species are endemic to Brazil (Abarema langsdorffii, Inga subnuda, I. sessilis, Leucochloron incuriale, Mimosa furfuracea, Senegalia grandistipula) and two only occur in the Mata Atlântica (Inga subnuda e Senegalia grandistipula). The main diagnostic characters to distinguish the genera, were the types of leaf and fruit, presence of extrafloral nectaries and number and fusion of stamens, and for the species, presence of glands in specific locations, presence of thorns, trichomes and stipules, and number of leaflets.
AbstractThis paper presents a floristic survey of Caesalpinioideae in Serra do Japi, located in the southeastern of São Paulo state. Eighteen species belonging to nine genera and four tribes were inventoried. Senna (6 spp.) and Chamaecrista (4 spp.) were the most diverse genera and Cassieae (11 spp.) the most representative tribe. Nine new records for the area have been recognized. The species found have wide distribution in the phytogeographic areas of the country, except two exclusive species of the Atlantic Forest. The flora in Serra do Japi holds around 20% of the species of Caesalpinioideae registered in the State, reinforcing the importance of the conservation of this forest as an important pole of diversity. Identification keys, illustrations and comments about the species are presented.
