Abstract:This article aims to investigate the Christian religious values that influence the construction of homophobia in Brazil. The qualitative research was divided into a bibliographical part and an empirical one, and the subjects participated in a focus group for the subject of debate. The results were organized into three categories: the homoparental family: his (un) legitimacy in the Christian vision; the Church's contribution in building a homophobic thought; Christian contradiction: loving others despite being gay. The development of analysis was supported by teachings of Michel Foucault and Pierre Bourdieu.
