Métodos: Estudio multicéntrico, cuantitativo. Datos colectados de abril a agosto-2010. De los usuarios inivitados (102), 77 aceptaron. Instrumentos utilizados: caracterización sociodemográfica, Kidney Disease and Quality of Live-Short Form (KDQOL-SF TM). Resultados: Mayoría (70,1%) hombres, 50-70 años de edad, 59,7% casados, con hijos, baja escolaridad (76,6%), 79,2% jubilados. 48,8% evaluaron salud como regular y 44,2% como buena. Dimensiones con menores escores medios: "situación de trabajo" (20,78), "función física" (22,8%) y "función emocional" (25,97), con medianas cero. La dimensión "estímulo por parte del equipo" (96,43) obtuvo escore mediano más alto y mediana 100. Conclusión: La hemodiálisis mantiene la vida, alivia síntomas, previene complicaciones, no impide evolución de la enfermedad. Interfiere en la calidad de vida, negativamente: situación de trabajo, función física y emocional y, positivamente, buena relación usuario x equipo. RESUMO Objetivo: Analisar a qualidade de vida de usuários que hemodialisam em uma Unidade Nefrológica de um hospital da região noroeste do Rio Grande do Sul.
