Fur den fossilen Kohlenwasserstoff Fichtelit hatte man fruher (lie Bruttoformel CIBH,, sngenommen und denselben, ohne irgendeinen anderen Anhaltspunkt sls den formellen Zus:i,mmenhang mit Reten C,H,, , als Perhydro-reten bezeichnet. Riicicka, Bnlas und Schinx2) konnten aus Fichtelit durch Dehydrierung mit Schn-efel Reten gewinnen und somit die Verwandtschaft der beiden Kohlenwasserstoffe experimentell beweisen. Bei dieser Gelegenheit wurde darsuf hingewiesen, dass auch die Formel C,,H,, fur Fichtelit in Erwagung gezogen werden musse. Zwischen den beiden Formeln kann weder durch EIementaranalyse noch durch die bekannten physikalischen Daten entschieden werden, da die Unterschiede zwischen den betreffenden Zahlen innerhalb der Fehlerquellen der Methoden liegen. Einer einwandfreien Unterscheidung zwischen diesen beiden Bruttoformeln des Fichtelits kommt deshalb ein besonderes Interesse zu, weil die kohlenstoffreichere suf eine Bildung des Fichtelits (lurch den Vertorfungsprozess aus Abietinsaure nach folgendem Schema hindeuten wiirde, wobei die Fichtenharzsauren vom Typus cler Abietinsaiure (I) 3, unter Hydrierung und Kohlendiosydabspaltung ein Dimethyl -isopropylperhydro -phenanthren (11) liefern wurden : Da wir kiirzlich zeigen konnten4), dsss bei der Dehydrierung der Abietinsaure mit Palladium-Kohle in etma 90-proz.
