Effect of composition and temperature of metal and slag on the dephosphorizatlon with lime-saturated oxidizing slags at 1600 and 1700 DC. In order to adjust the lowest values of phosphorus during the refining process an exact knowledge of the influences on the equilibrium between metal and slag is most important. Therefore, an experimental investigation was carried out in order to study the combined manganese-phosphorus oxidation from iron melts with complex oxidizing slags at 1600 and 1700 DC. The manganese content in the metal varied between 0 and 0.36%. First, the iron and the manganese reactions are considered. The experimental results show a marked tendency to separate with lime saturation. At low phosphorus contents of the slag, the phosphorus contents of the metal are a linear function of the (pot) contents. Apart from the influence of iron contents in the slag and temperature, the effect of manganese contents in the metal is of great importance for the values of phosphorus distribution between slag and metal. The characteristic data of the reactions are presented as a function of temperature, iron contents in the slag and manganese contents.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
