In this work the impact of the 6to4 tunnels is considered. In order for traffic to flow from an Internet Protocol version 4(IPv4) website to a native Internet Protocol version 6(IPv6) website, an additional configuration must be added to the network, as this cannot be done by default. The Riverbed Modeler Academic Version 17.5 is used to build and evaluate network efficiency with optimized 6to4 tunnels. The performance of the network is assessed based on the traffic received and sent by Internet Protocol (Version 6), Voice Called Traffic and the Sent and Received Traffic of the configured applications. The flow of traffic from servers to workstations in native IPv6 sites shows the effect of the tunnel configured.
Founded on the philosophy of advancing the course of democracy and acting as a stimulus for socio-cultural transformation at the community level, community broadcasting provides access to the public sphere by making its audience the main characters in the production and dissemination of its messages thus serving as a platform for the expression of the divergent views and opinions that exist at the community level. But almost a century after broadcasting was introduced to Nigeria as part of British imperialism, this grassroots form of broadcasting is yet to fully take off. Starting with a broad examination of public service broadcasting, this chapter discusses the state of community broadcasting in Nigeria, using Habermas' concept of the public sphere, and recommends its improvement given the crucial roles of community broadcasting in the society.
This work proposes the adoption of Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network (VANET) into the Road Transport system of developing countries. There are myriads of challenges to road transportation in developing countries which include poor state of roads, poor maintenance of roads, road congestions amongst others. The negative impacts of these developments could be very devastating on human lives as well as the economy of the nations concerned. Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSs) which involve the integration of modern communication and information technology into existing transportation systems for real time monitoring of traffic in order to alleviate traffic congestion, incidents, public health issues, etc. Utilizing VANET communication infrastructure will enable ITSs to improve safety of commuters on the roads and minimize traffic congestion, waiting times, fuel consumption, and emissions. The situation in the Nigerian State is considered.
