Experimental differential cross sections from data on the reaction T--$ -+ (r-r-)A++ at beam momenta of 2.7, 3.0, 3.2, 3.9, and 4.2 GeV/c have been extrapolated to the one-pion-e~change pole to obtain the r-relastic scattering cross section. iln attempt is made to correct for background due to kinematic overlap with the competing one-pion-exchange process r-p 4 pO(~-p). Analyses done independently on the data in two beam-momentum groupings at -3.0 and -4.0 GeV/c give consistent results of a roughly constant 7-11-mb cross section for 7r-r--> T-r-over the dipion mass range 440-750 MeV. Our results are compared with available results from other arlalyses and with several theoretical predictions for the T=2 s-wave phase shift So2.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
