Surveillance capsule programs are codified into federal law per U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission 10 CFR 50, Appendix H. The purpose of material surveillance programs are to monitor changes in the fracture toughness properties of ferritic materials in the reactor vessel (RV) under neutron irradiation. Surveillance capsules are withdrawn periodically from the RV, tested, and evaluated, and the results are reported following the guidelines laid forth in ASTM E185-82, Standard Practice for Design of Surveillance Programs for Light-Water Moderated Nuclear Power Reactor Vessels. This paper will focus on the Westinghouse AP1000® surveillance program because the combustion engineering and older Westinghouse programs have been extensively described in a previous publication.
ability, and traceability. Within minutes after the wafer processing is complete you can know if the units are good or not and also how good. This technique has been interfaced with a computer system to measure the small-signal S-parameters from 100 MHz to > 2 GHz. The system has been programmed to step the frequency, current, and voltage applied to a device and to measure a complete set of S-parameters a t each point. Statistical data is kept, analyzed by the system, and immediate feedback is made available to the user. This feedback output from the system is a bar graph plot of the probability density function and the distribution function of the wafer for any specified parameter. The mean and standard deviation are also indicated on each plot. The probing system is also used for checking complete circuits or devices for large-signal dynamic characteristics and functional operation. Digital integrated circuits have been tested for functional operation a t frequencies >700 MHz. The results obtained using these probes are better than those obtained from packaged circuits.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
