Mots clés Schwannome · Schwannome malin · Fosse infratemporaleAbstract Malignant schwannoma or malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor is a rare tumor arises from Schwann cell of peripheral nerve sheath. The infratemporal fossa which is surgically difficult to access is an unusual location for this tumor. Pathological examination confirmed the diagnosis. Surgical procedure is the treatment with an oncologic resection of the tumor associated or not with adjuvant radiation or chemotherapy. The prognosis is usually pejorative because of the risk of recurrence, sometimes difficult to diagnose. We report a rare case of malignant schwannoma of the infratemporal fossa who underwent surgical resection by modified pre-auricular procedure. After follow-up of 6 months,no recurrence was observed.
