Der A‐Horizont eines Wiesenbodens unter einer Goldhafer‐Bergwiese (Trisetetum flavescentis) im Solling wurde anhand von Groß‐Dünnschliffen mikromorphologisch und mikromorphometrisch analysiert. Ein wesentlicher Bestandteil der Darstellungen sind 5 Bildtafeln mit vergrößerten Ausschnitten der Bodenstruktur.
Die obersten 8‐10 cm bestehen vorwiegend aus Regenwurmlösungen verschiedener Lagerungs‐dichte; hierdurch entstand in den obersten 3‐5 cm Tiefe eine wasserstabile, lockere Schwammstruktur. Aber auch in den anschließenden Schichten ist der Boden von einem Netz von Hohlräumen verschiedener Breite durchzogen, das außer einer günstigen Wasserkapazität auch genügend Luft im Wurzelraum gewährleistet.
