Regularities of the sorption of heavy metal ions on the natural zeolite (calcium heulandite) have been investigated. Relationships of the sorption of heavy metal ions as a function of the fraction size of test zeolites were obtained. The sorption values in static conditions for nickel, copper and zinc ions amounted to 5.9, 4.8 and 2.7 mg/g, respectively, making it possible to use zeolites as sorbents in the treat ment of wastewater from electroplating facilities. The degree of wastewater purification in a filter with cal cium heulandite medium amounted to ~ 90%.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
