The effective yield 13el f = UDN/V of delayed neutrons is one of the most important constants in reactor physics. Here UDN is the total yield of delayed neutrons and u is the average number of fission neutrons emitted in a single fission event. A large amount of data on UDN for different fissioning iso.topes has been assessed and presented in [1][2][3][4]. In [5] it was shown that development of the technology of nuclear reactors requires more accurate measurements of/3el f on thermal neutrons for the main fissioning nuclei 233U, 235U, and 239pu. Most experimental methods of determining/3el f include irradiation of the
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
