PREFACEThis volume of the annual hydrologic data report of New Jersey is one of a series of annual reports that document hydrologic data gathered from the U.S. Geological Survey's surface-and ground-water data-collection networks in each State, Puerto Rico, and the Trust Territories. These records of streamflow (Volume 1), groundwater levels (Volume 2), and water quality (Volume 3) provide the hydrologic information needed by state, local, and federal agencies, and the private sector for developing and managing our Nation's land and water resources.Hydrologic data for New Jersey are contained in 3 volumes: Volume 1. Surface-Water Data Volume 2. Ground-Water Data Volume 3. Water-Quality Data This report is the culmination of a concerted effort by dedicated personnel of the U.S. Geological Survey who collected, compiled, analyzed, verified, and organized the data and who typed, edited, and assembled the report. The authors had primary responsibility for assuring that the information contained herein is accurate, complete, and adheres to U.S. Geological Survey policy and established guidelines. The following individual contributed significantly to the completion of the report. Public reporting burden for this collection of information is estimated to average 1 hour per response, including the time for reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering and maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the collection of information. Send comments regarding this burden estimate or any other aspect of this collection of information, including suggestions for reducing this burden, to Washington Headquarters Services, Directorate Water-resources data for the 2004 water year for New Jersey are presented in three volumes, and consists of records of stage, discharge, and water-quality of streams; stage and contents of lakes and reservoirs; and water levels and water-quality of ground water. Volume 1 contains discharge records for 105 gaging stations; tide summaries at 27 tidal gaging stations; stage and contents at 39 lakes and reservoirs; and diversions from 51 surface-water sources. Also included are stage and discharge for 108 crest-stage partial-record stations, stage-only at 34 tidal crest-stage gages, and discharge for 124 low-flow partial-record stations. Locations of these sites are shown in figures 8-11. Additional discharge measurements were made at 131 miscellaneous sites that are not part of the systematic data-collection program. Discontinued station tables for gaging stations, crest-stage gages, tidal crest-stage and tidal gaging stations show historical coverage. The data in this report represent that part of the National Water Information System (NWIS) data collected by the United States Geological Survey (USGS). Hydrologic conditions are also described for this water year, including stream-flow, precipitation, reservoir conditions, and air temperatures.*New Jersey, *hydrologic data, *surface water, *streamflow, *tide, *tidal, flow, flood, flow rate, gaging stations, lakes, rese...
Prepared in cooperation with the New Jersey Department of and Energy and with other agencies. Environmental Protection Abstract (Limit: 200 words)Water resources data for the 1991 water year for New Jersey consists of records of stage, discharge, and water quality of streams; stage, contents, and water quality of lakes and reservoirs; and water levels and water quality of ground water. This volume of the ^ report contains .discharge records for 95 gaging stations; tide summaries for 4 stations; stage and contents for 33 lakes and reservoirs; water quality for 101 surface-water sites. Also included are data for 67 crest-stage partial-record stations, 13 tidal crest-stage gages, and 91 low-flow partial-record stations. Locations of these sites are shown on Figures 11 and 12. 'Additional water data were collected at various sites not involved in the systematic data-collection program. Miscellaneous data were collected at 57 measuring sites and 13 water-quality sampling sites. These data represent that part of the National Water Data System operated by U.S. Geological Survey and cooperating State and Federal agencies in New Jersey. 1938-81 1968 -80 a 1968-77 1969-71 1925-46, 1976-88a 1898-1990 1935-85 1935-58 1934-38 1935-78 1935-58 1897-55 1937-62 1938-64 1931-38 1922-73 1972-74 1940-50 1921-24 1978-88 1936-61 1977-88 1903-06 1976-87 1975-87 1977-88 1964-67, 1977-81 1964-75, 1963-70 1967-75 1972-74, 1934-49 1969-74 1903-09, 1938-84 1972-77 1923-30 1922-26 1927-90 1957-67 1939-88 1932-40 1932-41 1932-55 1973-76 1933-58, 1965-84 1974-88 1946-85 1972-79 1973-79 1972-79 1931-57, 1951-67 1978-88 1937-59 1908-09 1940-62 1977-80 1977-86 1987-89 1987-89 1945-66 1971 1978 1923-61 1970-83a 1960-70 . 1969-71. 1961-75 1922-74 1906-71 ., 1898-06 . , 1976-77 ',;,-1972-81 -/. 1976-77 .a 1976-77 1976-77 1961-75 1953-65, 1977. 1975-78 , 1975-77 1940-76 1957-66 1932-40 . 1940-85, 1989 1953-72 a Not published, on file at U.S. Geological Survey, West Trenton, NJ.WATER RESOURCES DATA -NEW JERSEY, 1991 DISCONTINUED CONTINUOUS WATER-QUALITY STATIONS XlThe following stations have been discontinued as continuous water-quality stations.
