TITLEThe effect of apple and guava chewing to debris indexABSTRACTDebris is food accumulation contained in the oral cavity, if not promptly cleaned will cause dental caries disease. Debris can be cleaned mechanically or chemically. One of the way to clean debris by chewing apples and guava, fibrous texture and juicy fruit, so it can clean teeth naturally. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of chewing an apple and red guava against debris index. This research method is quasy experimental with pre and post test design. Population were students aged 8-10 years. Samples are 40 students who were divided into 2 groups: 20 students as treatment group chewing apples and 20 students chewing guava as control group. Sampling using total sampling techniques. Independent variables was munching apples and guava red while dependent variable was debris index,Results: from paired T test showed the results of p = 0.000, mean p 0.05, while the independent T test showed the results of p = 0,001, meaning p Value of 0.05. Conclusion: Chewing apples and guava red effect on the index debris. Chewing apples are more effective than chewing guava in decreasing debris index. Key words : apple, guava red, debris index
Healthy life behavior can be influenced by someone's social economy. One of the factors that influence it is income or income. Earnings have a direct influence on medical care, if income increases, then the cost of health also increases. Medical treatment is one of them is a cavity in the cavities (dental caries). Dental caries is more common in children's school. The results of 8 children shcool on average have caries 2 in Muhammadiyah Sambisari Kalasan Elementary School. The purpose of research: To knowing about the influence of parental income on child dental caries in Muhammadiyah Sambisari Elementary School. Research design: cross sectional, type of research: analytic, data collection technique: observational and survey, sample: 60 children (random sampling) at 3, 4, 5 grade, Data analysis: Wilcoxon test. The result of the analysis using wilcoxon test influence the amount of income per month of parent, to the amount of dental caries student is the value of Asymp. The Sig is 0.012 is less than 0.05 so, Ho can be reject and Ha will be accept, then statistically shows a significant influence between income level per month of parent to number of dental caries of Sambisari elementary school.
Service Activities Dental and Oral Health Care is part of the School Dental Health Enterprises (UKGS) which aims to improve the knowledge, attitude and the ability to behave in the field of healthy living oral health. These activities include outreach, shared toothbrushes and dental examinations, but oral health care has no knowledge, so the researchers are interested to know the difference before and after the service activities of oral health care on knowledge, attitude, oral health status elementary students. The purpose of this research is to know the difference before and aftercare service activities against oral health knowledge, attitudes, and oral health status of elementary school students. This study used a quasi-experimental method with the design of One Group Pre-test - Post-test Design. The population in this study were elementary school students in the area of Gamping Sleman Yogyakarta with a sample of 179 students. Sampling techniques using saturation sampling. Results: Based on the analysis of different test (paired sample t-test) showed significant differences in knowledge, attitudes, oral hygiene, decay and Decay students between the before and after care service oral health (p<0.05). Conclusions: 1). Knowledge, attitude and degree of oral hygiene students after health care services increased oral better 2). There was a decrease in rate-test decay (teeth better ) and Decay (permanent teeth ) on the student after the service of oral health care.
Background : Promotion methods are a means of acquiring knowledge and skills. The development of the world of learning is very rapid with the existence of the internet such as online learning methods. Video streaming is a means of education through the internet. "VISGOGI" (Tooth Brushing Streaming Video) Users of Dentures can be obtained through online learning. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of "VISGOGI" (Tooth Brushing Streaming Video) of Dentures Users on Dentures Maintenance Skills. VISGOGI" (Tooth Brushing Streaming Video) Dentures users can be obtained through online learning. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of "VISGOGI" (Tooth Brushing Streaming Video) of Dentures Users on Dentures Maintenance Skills. Method: Quasi-exsperiment research with two group pre and posttest with control group design. The research population of dental poly patients at Puskesmas Wonosari I Gunungkidul and research samples of patients using dentures at Puskesmas Wonosari I Gunungkidul Jl. Baron Wonosari Gunungkidul. Free variable, i.e. "VISGOGI" (Toothbrush Streaming Video) Users of Dentures. Bounded variable, Dentures Maintenance Skills were measured by a skill questionnaire after the sample was treated with "VISGOGI" (Toothbrush Streaming Video) of denture users. Data analysis with a level (sig.) < 0.05 namely Kolmogorov Smirnov Test, Paired t-test, Independent simple t-test and correlation regression. Research Results: Analysis of paired t-test and Independent simple t-test showed a significant difference in influence (p=0.000) between before and after receiving VISGOGI (Tooth Brushing Streaming Video) of denture users on denture maintenance skills and between the streaming video group and the control group. The results of the correlation regression analysis showed that the variable VISGOGI (Video Streaming Brushing Teeth) User Dentures (sig.) = 0.000 had a significant effect on skills with an influence contribution of 90% (R²= 0.90). The conclusion of the maintenance skills of dentures after getting streaming video is higher than before treatment and higher than that of the control group.
