Preschool Activity Book, in terms of outcomes, indicators and learning processes related to food and nutrition. In this research, document review method, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was utilized. The resources, on which the research will be carried out, were determined by one of the purposeful sampling methods; the criterion sampling method. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis method. The documents discussed in the research have been scanned for learning outcomes related to food and nutrition and healthy nutrition with its indicators, nutrients, food groups, where food comes from, importance of eating various foods, benefits of foods. As a result of the research, it has been determined that there are no learning outcomes related to food and nutrition concepts in the activities and that no references have been made to food and nutrition concepts in learning processes in the Activity Book of Preschool Education Program. However, in the activities included in the Digital Education Platform Educational Information Network Teachers' Preschool Activity Book, not only learning outcomes related to food and nutrition were discussed, but also food and nutrition concepts were addressed in the learning processes. The results are presented in tables, and suggestions were made at the end of the paper.
A study was conducted using a correlational screening model to determine the mediating effect of altruism in the relationship between empathic tendencies, the nature relatedness and environmental consciousness. The participants of the study, selected via random cluster sampling design, are composed of 305 pre-school teachers working in pre-schools and kindergartens in a city located in Turkey’s Aegean region. The ‘Empathic Tendency Scale’, ‘Altruism Scale’, ‘Nature Relatedness Scale’, and ‘Environmental Consciousness Scale’ were used as data collection tools. The analyses of the sub-purposes were carried out using the PROCESS macro (Model 4) developed by Andrew Hayes using the SPSS infrastructure. When the study results were examined, the indirect effects of the empathic tendency on nature relatedness and environmental consciousness were found to be significant. Thus, altruism was the mediator for the relationship between the empathic tendency and nature relatedness (β=.13, 95% BCA CI [.08; .19]) and for the relationship between emphatic tendency and environmental consciousness (β=.36, %95 BCA CI [.18; .57]).
The purpose of this research is to investigate the effects of Dora the Explorer cartoon on the spatial concept acquisitions and spatial abilities of the preschool children. The study was carried out with 80, 60-71 month old children attending preschools. Post-test only control group model is used in the research in order to identify the existing phenomena in a controlled manner. "The Bracken Basic Concept Scale, Third Edition: Receptive (BBCS-III:R) Form Direction/Position Subscale" and two different "Spatial Ability Games" were used to assess children's spatial concept acquisitions and spatial abilities. Independent sample t-test was used in order to compare the average of post-test scores of the children in the experimental and control groups. According to the findings, it is found that there is meaningful difference between scores of post-tests of direction/position subscale and spatial ability games score. Comparing the scores of post-test of direction/position subscale and spatial ability games of experimental and control groups, it was found that there was a meaningful differentiation in favor of experimental group.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
