and the Canadian Society of Microbiologists: an interweaved tale My knowledge about microbiology truly started in September 1976 at Macdonald College (MAC) of McGill University. As a freshman, I was quite impressed by the old biology building in which I met the Department Chair Dr. Robert A. MacLeod. In fact, at that time I could not even guess what could be the outcome of the decision I had taken to explore the microbial world. But first let me start at the beginning.
