This work would like to bring into the attention of readers various aspects associated with the process of doctoral research. For many of the students this can represent quite a challenging experience with an increased level of complexity. The author will show his experience while enrolled in this form of education. Main ideas are based on the factors identified while planning and writing the papers associated with the research journey. Most of the works belong to the themes of the doctoral school, like economics, financial system or international affairs. The sample of analysed papers contains several works covering the field of interdisciplinary research. This concept will be approached inside the literature review to familiarise the readers with its meaning. Content of this area includes elements from economics, financial system, international affairs and environment. Novelty of the paper is represented by the personal experience of the writer. He will show the challenges encountered while performing regular and interdisciplinary research, connecting particular notions from business process management and business process improvement. Lean Six Sigma methodology will be used to sustain specific elements of the analytical representation. Moreover, the author will provide an overview on the lessons learnt, hoping this will contribute to the decrease of the research process complexity level and support publication status.
The authors desired to approach inside this study possible risks emerging in different areas of research, like environment and finance. As the ranges of investigation are quite different, the writers have tried to find a common driver in the construction of the message. This has been achieved, by addressing to a shared hierarchical level, under the pyramid of Maslow, the second one linked to safety and security needs. Through the examples provided will be shown that even if the areas of research are different, the risks emerging are linked to infrastructure and / or technological innovation and are impacting on the safety and security areas. Collection of the data has been done through interrogation of dedicated open-source information specific to each field of research, legislation or addressing to specialized reports for the technical findings. Through the examples provided the research will show there may be relevant risks emerging in environment area, when meeting with brown bears or in finance, when facing threats linked to cybercrime and cybersecurity. Readers of this article should understand, that risks may occur based on a probability scale and on the appetite for risk of each one of them. In case of manifestation, the level of research and preparation for that particular case of each person or organization may influence on the impact measure and on the outcomes.
Latterly the community systems are influenced by disruptive scenarios, in practical terms various factors impacting on the effective running of social processes. Among the actors present in the life cycle of the community processes are enlisted the subjects, with roles in the protection and governance of critical infrastructures. Organizations covering these roles have to act accordingly, gathering information on the background, not only to prevent and mitigate the occurrence of risks, contemporarily to govern the operative behavior of their systems. The information collected can be managed in various modalities, using traditional databases or innovative technologies, like blockchain. Present study puts together some considerations identified in other working papers and practical aspects encountered in the management of information to discuss on requirements and proposals. Furthermore contains a high level assessment among the two existing options for particular critical infrastructures in the administration of the information, traditional databases and blockchain.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
