Human resources has been successful in delivering effective people management systems and have always had the charge to plan, sustain and implement an environment in which people can perform. Competencies are characteristics that illustrate exemplary performance. They can be exercised in an infinite array of on-the-job behaviours. Indeed, competencies can include bodies of knowledge, personality traits, knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes. The aim of this study is to identify the competencies of the HR function along with the factors associated them and their perceived significance from the perspective of general managers. A primary survey has been conducted by administering a questionnaire among 300 respondents by following simple random sampling method. The data collected were analyzed with the help of statistical tools like percentage analysis and correlation. This study reveals the competencies that general manager should perceive and the change in ratings of these competencies over a period of time. This study also developed effective methodology and perceptions on Strategic management, Business perspective & Management Leadership skills and its consequent impact on the demographic factors like Age, Gender & Educational background as the measure to evaluate importance of HR competencies.
India stands out as the fifth biggest retail industry in the globe. Grocery is the largest retail segments worldwide and it would be of academic as well as business interest to understand the buyer’s preference in the context of branded and unbranded grocery retail scenario. Brand management is essential for developing a best relationship with the target market. This study aim is to identify the factors influencing the consumer preferences towards local groceries and branded grocery retailing. The primary data was collected from over 300 respondents by using questionnaire based on simple random sampling method. The Primary data was collected and analyzed by using one way ANOVA and regression with the help of SPSS package. For the analysis of data, the factors considered were quality, price and satisfaction level of customer in products, service and other particular factors. The demographic profile of the consumer also influences the purchase, consumption, frequency of purchase and the like. The study results demonstrate the importance of price of the product, quantity differences, packaging, availability, convenience to the location and freshness. These consumers oriented marketing strategies need special managerial skills to draw the attention of all age group of consumers. The findings of the research shall be stated that the income, family size of the consumer and quality of the product influences the consumer’s purchasing behavior. Thus the study gives the opportunity to learn and make brief research about the grocery products in depth.
Employees move out from organsiation for various reasons ranging from personal to official and the cost of hiring employees are also in exponential trend. The investment made in infrastructure, training has initiated organization to focus on employee loyalty. This has grabbed the attention of organizations to turnaround and focus on employee loyalty. BPO/RPO organizations in India are facing the employee attrition from its entry level. As keeping cost leadership is the only opportunity to sustain in the present trend, their investment made over employees builds a kind of conducive environment. Thus the primary objective of the study is to explore organization culture, job security, financial benefits, career development practices, interpersonal relations along with employee commitment towards their loyalty. The study aimed to identify the top three performers in BPO/RPO companies located in four major cities as Chennai, Coimbatore, Trichy and Madurai which is a member in NASSCOM. A sample of 30 employees and 10 team leaders were selected in each city based on simple random sampling and it constitutes 480 samples in total. The collected data was analysed using descriptive statistics, one way ANOVA and multiple regression using R language. The Multiple regression co-efficient reveals that out of seven components organization culture, career development, job security, supervisor attitude and relationship with team members has significant impact over employee loyalty. The other component such as financial benefits and employee commitment has no significant impact on employee loyalty.
