Abstract:In this paper we have compared clinical results after remineralization procedures with glass ionomer cements (GIC) and classical treatment with professional topical fluoride application. In young children aged 12 to 30 months 45 white spot lesions were covered with GIC and glass ionomer bond (Fuji II LC, Fiji Bond LC GC Japan), while 35 were treated topically with fluoride twice a week, as a control group. Both groups were included in the same program of oral health education, with the same measures for cleaning the teeth recommended.After two months of monitoring, the results indicate complete absence of cavities in experimental, and 17 (48%) in control group. These cavities had to be further restored with GIC.This research indicates a higher rate of safeness when early caries lesions are protected with GIC.
Fixed technique for applying brackets would be impossible without using adhesives for their fixation to the tooth enamel. However, the use of adhesives entails a number of problems which are a consequence of their imperfection, besides the fact that they have been actually applied for a number of decades already. The paper will analyze the debonding force values for bracket-tooth interface by using Con Tec LC and, Con Tec Duo. For comparative analysis of the strength of bracket-tooth interface, with the application of different types of adhesives, 80 extracted teeth of the frontal region were used (central, lateral incisor teeth and canines of the upper and lower tooth arch). For the debonding process of applied orthodontics brackets, single-axial Stretch system for examination of tissues was applied to determine the value of the force necessary to separate the bracket from tooth surface, i.e. it was used to test debonding force. The direction of the used force for debonding was under angle of 90 degrees to the vertical axis of the tooth. By comparison of mean values of the strength of interface among the tested groups, it was determined that the highest average value of bond strength was with the group of teeth with which Con Tec Duo was used, a little lower mean value was recorded with the use of Con Tec LC adhesive.
In this paper, we present the analysis of thin films in implant materials. Based on preliminary results, it can be concluded that thin polymer films between bone and implant achieve biocompatibility. In addition, analysis will be conducted for other characteristics, such as bioinertia, and biofunctionality
Historically, although the first indications for the use of lasers in general were in dentistry, coming as a relief from the sound of the drill and mechanical contacts, it still seems somewhat that the entry in various ways of lasers in dentistry has been slower. This is somewhat true for the situation at the continents (e.g. USA much later approved the application relative to Europe). This paper analyzes the potential and existing applications of lasers in dentistry in a wide range of existing types, including interaction with dental tissues, in terms of surgical applications, on living tissue, the prosthetic area of applications and therapeutic doses. There is another special feature that can be recognized is the precise determination of the color of the material (teeth and prosthetics) and in general the determination of the composition of the material including classic, but also modern laser techniques (LIBS, complimentary techniques, tooth tissue, bone) and especially in the case of the first Q switch systems related to pain reduction, because the short pulse favors the intervention rate (ns, ps and fs). Special attention should be paid to modeling of interaction and analysis with the appropriate software support.
