Bu araştırmanın amacı, matematik tarihi etkinliklerinin ortaokul yedinci sınıf öğrencilerinin niceliksel muhakeme becerilerinin gelişimine etkisini belirlemektir. Araştırmada nicel araştırma desenlerinden biri olan yarı deneysel araştırma deseni kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemini Türkiye'nin İç Anadolu Bölgesi'nde yer alan bir ortaokulda öğrenim gören 41 yedinci sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Erdem'in (2015) geliştirdiği "Matematiksel Muhakeme Testi" kullanılmıştır. Nicel verilerin analizinde Mann Whitney U testi ve Wilcoxon işaretli sıralar testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonunda deney ve kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin niceliksel muhakeme son test puanları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark olmamasına rağmen deney grubu öğrencilerinin niceliksel muhakeme becerilerinin kontrol grubu öğrencilerine oranla daha fazla geliştiği görülmüştür.
ARTICLE INFOThis study aimed to develop a test towards determining the misconceptions of sixth-grade students on the topic of fractions and determine the misconceptions of students with the help of this test. In the study, the explanatory research design, among the mixed research designs, was utilized. In the quantitative part of the study, a test was developed to determine misconceptions on the topic of fractions, while the case study design was used in the qualitative part. In the implementation, the participants of the study consisted of 19 sixth-grade students (11 male, 8 female) of a state school. The data that were obtained from the study were analyzed by the qualitative data analysis method of content analysis. At the end of the study, the Test of Determining Misconceptions on Fractions (TDMF) consisting of 10 open-ended questions was developed. Additionally, as a result of implementing TDMF, the misconceptions of the students towards each targeted learning outcome were determined.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
