The urban structure of Dombóvár has been transformed in recent centuries, and the protected buildings that once defined the town center, have been relegated to the periphery. Today, despite its rich architectural heritage, the Kakasdomb district is an area at risk of segregation. The key to the integration of the district into the existing urban tissue is the utilization of the protected buildings of the area including the former synagogue building. This paper examines the possibilities for the reuse of the synagogue based on the town development strategy and the perceptions of the remaining Jewish community, and the systematic modification of the settlement structure, together with the possibilities for the integration of the neighborhood.
The "Vertical Necropolis" being proposed is intended as a new prototype model for burial at a global level, a model which, given the unbridled growth of today's cities, would provide a ludic-urban place where the deceased can be visited, which at the same time would serve as a landmark within the city. The "Vertical Necropolis" is a self-sufficient building where visitors will be able to enjoy the comforts of a luxury hotel while, at the same time, sensing a less serious and formal atmosphere. In this way, visitors will be able to participate in a unique experience in one of Mexico's most beautiful districts. These "Catacombs in the Air" should become a landmark within the city, composed of a state-of-the-art necropolis, the functioning of which must be based on contemporary standards of hygiene, cleanliness and attention for the relatives of the deceased. The objective of this cemetery is the establishment of a structure recognizable from a distance, so that the ancient rites of incineration, burial and visits to the mortal remains of the deceased may continue to be domestic, familial and everyday rites -as they were in ancient cultures-included as part of the urban fabric. Like the famous "La Recoleta" cemetery in Buenos Aires (with more than 1,000 mausoleums), which is located in the heart of the city and visited by more than 30,000 people each year, this Necropolis is intended as a bohemian attraction, where visitors will be able to enjoy the landscape and funereal architecture (this kind of attraction is visited by more than 200 million tourists a year around the world)
What cultural value do temporary events and spatial productions have? What contribution can they make to a vivid European urban built environment? These questions are the subject of a joint project of the European Capitals of Culture in 2010. During this year of the European Capitals of Culture there will be a series of temporary interventions into city spaces in Istanbul, Pécs and in Duisburg, acting for the Ruhr Area. These will bring attention to the various cultural shapes of the "European City" and test out new design ideas.Összefoglalás "Temporary City" különleges helyen 2008-2010-között -Három nemzetet összefogó kísérlet az időre gyakorolt hatásáról.
