It is exasperating to still read of treatment with apomorphine referred to as aversion therapy. The late Dr. John Y. Dent, the originator of the modem version of this treatment, was of the opinion that apomorphine has a direct action on the medulla and aversion has no part in the process. He explained fully the theory and technique in " Anxiety and its Treatment "' as well as in many articles in the Yournal for the Study of Addiction and other periodicals too numerous
