In this paper, the evaluation method of image sticking was proposed by measuring 2-Dimension of luminance level. We used the 2D-CCD luminance meter and pattern generator for chessboard pattern. The test samples were burned in about 2 hours and the tested data were normalized by data before image sticking test. The normalized value was so sensitive for determining the image sticking level. We proposed a new parameter of ISV(image sticking value) for increasing sensitivity. It was resulted that the image sticking under ISV 1% was difficult to be detected by human eye. And the image sticking over ISV 2% was strongly detected. It was found that this test method is similar to human eye testing result. Therefore, this analysis method helps to determine the objective image sticking level.
In this study, we defined the dynamic characteristics of LCD Liquid Crystal Display and developed the new analysis method of dynamic delay phenomena in LCD. We could analyze the dynamic delay phenomena through some experiment and we could quantify the value of it. We used a high speed CCD for this experiment. The resolution is 480 × 420 pixel and the dynamic range is eight bit. Generally we can measure the response time by using some optic equipment. But the dynamic delay phenomena can be only detected by human. Therefore we need an objective analysis method for dynamic delay. We proposed some equation so called DDC Dynamic Delay Contrast Ratio. Especially we compared the phenomena in TN Twisted Nematic, VA Vertical Alignment and IPS In Plane Switch mode LCD.
In this paper, we propose a new analysis method to determine the image quality level. The method uses the fractal dimension algorithm with 2D luminance & chromaticity data. In this study, fractal dimension data mean the level of the test panel complexity. As the analysis result, it was distributed to 0.293 from 0.3652 in each test sample. Therefore, this analysis method can helps to find objective image quality level. We knew that the evaluation results from fractal dimension analysis were similar to those from subjective measurement result.
Recently, the gamma subcommittee of the International Committee for Display Metrology has adopted various gamma measurement methods in Information Display Measurements Standard. This article describes further tests including perceptual verification of the suggested measurement methods. In order to verify the suggested measurement method, visual assessment has been carried out. The results of visual assessment can be applied to provide gamma distortion threshold values of the suggested metrology in Information Display Measurements Standard.
