La osteomielitis de los maxilares (OM) es un patología infecciosa que compromete a la médula ósea debido a diversas etiologías, la principal la odontogénica. El diagnóstico de la OM es un reto para el clínico, que se basa en la clínica y exámenes imagenológicos. La radiografía panorámica es el examen imagenológico que se emplea con mayor frecuencia, pero esta tiene algunas limitantes que han sido mejorados con la incursión de nuevos métodos imagenológicos como la Tomografía Computada (TC), la Tomografía Computarizada de Haz Cónico (TCHC), la imagen por Resonancia Magnética (IRM), gammagrafía ósea con radionucleócidos. El propósito de la revisión fue describir las características imagenológicas de la Osteomielitis de los Maxilares de acuerdo a todos los métodos de diagnóstico radiológico disponibles en base a la literatura. Que permitirán al radiólogo tener más conocimiento y evitar emitir informes erróneos.
