Nearly all governments around the world have temporarily closed educational institutions due to Covid-19 pandemic which are affecting up to 60% of the world’s student. Around, near to 200 countries closed their schools are interrupting the education of more than 1.5 billion young people and impact in long-term social and economic consequences. The aim of the meta-analysis is to evaluate the challenges and opportunities of online education during Covid-19 situation in Nepal by performing a systematic Meta analysis of related published literature. The Meta analysis was done diverse subjects and diverse research design was eligible among the 11 full-text articles. A formal extraction protocol was the PRISMA-P. Main finding of analysis is to offer an opportunity to shift to online learning and interaction and use virtual platforms for e-conference, webinars, podcasts, online class/ online-lectures etc. Opportunities for being continuations of academic career from any part of country; increase learning outcome among job holders. The changes in education technique, modality and process, which may required extra effort initially, provides teacher, faculty and facilitator the forcedly to keep pace with current trends in technology. This study recognized challenges as unequal access and quality of internet conveniences; affordability of laptops/computers; limited interaction; and frequent disturbances.
Nearly 77 million children, has taken away their classrooms for the past 18 months in the pandemic. School children worldwide have lost 1.8 trillion hours and counting of in-person learning due to COVID-19 lockdowns. At least 1 in 3 school children had no access to remote learning during school closures. Narrative review of Analysis was prepared by using secondary data of the all international and national published journal, report and articles. The narrative review analysis was done only on; a) English language b) involved sample of at least 10 subjects and diverse research design were eligible. Main finding of analysis is to parents as key partners of the efficiency of remote learning during COVID-19. Parent’s participation has played an equalizing role explanatory some of the limitations of remote learning. Difficulties in completing distance learning tasks at home, with major difficulties being children’s lack of learning interests and home environment related limitations. Many parents perceived that the pandemic as an opportunity for family relations, and more research possibilities related to the personal interests of their child as well as focused on the development of their child’s technological skills. Parents found themselves in the place of teachers’ shoes with the arrival of COVID-19 due to shutting down of school. Parents and caregivers face significant gaps in the knowledge and resources needed to help their children with school. They faced challenges of limited access to reliable electricity, affordable internet, and internet-capable devices were major barriers in helping their children continue education remotely.
A novel corona virus (nCoV) was recognized on seven January 2020 and was temporarily named “2019-nCoV”. It was subsequently named the “Covid-19 virus globally. The objective of the study is to assess the knowledge and the preventive practice on Covid-19 among teachers and students of Mahalaxmi municipality in Dhankuta. Descriptive analytical cross-sectional design was used. A census method was used to choose the respondents. A semi- structured questionnaire was used to collect the data among 387 respondents. Frequency, percentage, mean, median and standard deviation were used to assess the knowledge and preventive practice on Covid-19 with teachers and students.. Inferential analysis i.e. multivariate logistic regression was used to find the relationship between dependent and selected demographic variables. Half (50.6%) of the respondents had good level of knowledge on Covid-19. Two-forth (50.4%) of respondents had poor practice on Covid-19 and less than two-forth (49.6%) of respondents had good practice. Multivariate analysis shows that there is association among levels of practice with ethnicity (p=0.007; aOR =0.576; CI=0.385-.862) and mother education (p=0.003; aOR =1.228; CI=1.072-.1.407).There is significant association between level of practice and ethnicity (p=0.004; aOR=1.810; CI=1.202- 2.726) and mother’s education (p=0.002; aOR=0.804; CI=0.700-0.923). The study concluded that nearly half (49.4%) had still poor level of knowledge and more two-forth (50.4%) of the respondents had poor level of practice on Covid-19 so awareness programmed should be conducted to enhance the Knowledge and practice of teachers and students of Mahalaxmi municipality.
