Abstrak PENDAHULUANPada suatu acara kuis atau "cepat tepat" terlihat pada masing-masing peserta atau regu yang mengikuti lomba tersebut disediakan suatu tombol untuk ditekan, dimana bila suatu peserta mampu untuk menjawab suatu pertanyaan yang diajukan maka peserta tersebut harus menekan tombol untuk mendapatkan hak menjawab. Biasanya hak menjawab ini diberikan juri kepada peserta yang dapat menekan tombol terlebih dahulu, oleh karena itu masing-masing peserta harus bergerak cepat menekan tombol bila dari pertanyaan yang diajukan merasa mampu untuk menjawabnya.Pada pengaturan sakelar cepat tepat ini biasanya pengaturannya dibuat sedemikian rupa sehingga bila salah satu peserta telah terlebih dahulu menekan sakelar, maka penekanan tombol oleh peserta lainnya tidak akan mempengaruhi bel dan lampu yang telah terlebih dahulu direbut oleh peserta yang pertama tadi. Bahkan tombol yang labih dahulu ditekan walaupun dengan selisih waktu sepersekian detik dengan tombol yang lainnya, maka tombol yang lebih dahulu tersebutlah yang akan direspon oleh alat. Jadi bila tampak oleh mata misalnya dua peserta menekan tombol berbarengan akan tetapi rangkaian pengatur akan mampu menangkap peserta mana yang terlebih dahulu memberi respon karena selisih yang sempit tadi.Rangkaian konvensional pengaturan sakelar untuk acara cepat tepat ini biasanya dirakit dengan menggunakan relay-relay dengan banyak sakelar pada masing-masing relaynya. Kekurangan dari rangkaian relay ini adalah delay waktu nya yang agak lama serta pemakaian sumber daya yang cukup besar. Pada sistem dengan menggunakan relay, pengaturan kontrol sakelar dan kontak-kontak untuk menyalakan lampu dan buzzer hanya digunakan relay-relay saja.Untuk menggantikan sistem relay tersebut pada penelitian ini akan dicoba sebagai alat kontrol dari pengaturan sakelarnya digunakan mikrokontroler, sementara untuk menggantikan fungsi kontak relay untuk menyalakan lampu dan buzzer digunakan optocoupler dan SCR.
