Tests and assessment are necessary for the presentation of the language learners' competence in the process of learning. This paper discussed and is trying to find out the particularity and characteristics of English teaching at minority regions in consideration of the influencing factors: trilingual teaching, small classes, fewer students. The measurement of constructs of English classroom examination at minority regions is put forward. The techniques used in this paper are trying to keep pace with the advances in psychometric theory and methods. This paper presents an example of applying item response theory to English classroom examinations at minority regions and demonstrates graded response models.
Abstract. Teachers in ethnic universities and colleges need to use effective management strategies to achieve their teaching goals. Objective teaching management mode emphasizes on the dynamic management in the process of teaching. Establishing new teaching concepts, strengthening teacher professional development and creating teaching evaluation system are very important for constructing objective teaching management mode.
The purpose of this paper is to investigate students' intent of APT(Active Participation in Teaching)by online college English courses offered at Qinghai Normal University. The survey is conducted among200 non-English majors followed a semester of college English lessons integrated online courses. To examine the students' intent of APT in the course and the new learning environment at the end of the teaching period, a questionnaire was administered and interviews were conducted. The findings indicate that despite the difficulties they faced, the students were satisfied overall with the application of online college English courses and promoted the intent of APT.
