This research aims to find out the significant improvement of the students achievement in reading comprehension by applying Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). The subject of this research was X grade of SMK Bandung-2 at Academic Year 2017/2018. It consisted of one class with 30 students as respondents. The objective was to discover the significant improvement of the students’ achievement in reading comprehension by applying Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). This research was conducted by using classroom action research. The instruments of collecting data were observation sheet, and Reading tests. The research finding is shown of that there was an improvement on the students’ reading achievement on narrative text from each cycle. It was showed from the mean of pre-test which was 56.5 with persentage 0%. After CTL was applied in the first cycle, there was an improvement of the result of the students’ in reading comprehension the mean was 69.16 with persentage 33.3%. It means that there was an improvement from pre-test to post-test I was 33.3%. And for the second cycle after reflection on the first cycle, there was an improvement of students’ mean which was 85 with persentage 100%. Based on the result showed that there was an improvement after applying CTL was 66.7%. It concluded that students’ achievement in reading comprehension by applying contextual teaching and learning (CTL) improved.
This study aims to: 1) identify the use of Ellipsis the Main Character's Utterances in the "Trolls" Movie. The objectives of the study were to identify the ellipsis on the main character's utterances in the "Trolls" movie, to determine the types of ellipsis (clausal, verbal and nominal) used on the main character's utterances in the "Trolls" movie, and to derive the most dominant types of ellipsis found on the main character's utterances in the "Trolls" movie. The study was conducted by applying descriptive qualitative research. The source of data was taken from the whole of "Trolls" movie and transcript of the "Trolls" movie that focused on the use ellipsis and types of ellipsis. They consisted of 38 pages as the data. The findings of the study were, there were three types of the ellipsis found in the "Trolls" movie. They were nominal ellipsis, verbal ellipsis and clausal ellipsis by the number of occurrences were nominal was 25 (39.1%), verbal ellipsis was 5 (7.8%), and clausal ellipsis was 34 (53.1%). So the most dominant type found on the main character's utterances in the "Trolls" movie amount to 34 (53.1%).
Damage to the natural environment is a reflection of the disruption of the earth's lungs (forests) as a result of anthropocentric attitudes of humans who exploit excessively. To balance the natural environment so that it is not increasingly damaged, which is to foster human behavior or ethics that care about the environment. This study is entitled Angkola LocalWisdom in Efforts to Love the Environment. The problem to be explored is the Angkola traditional ceremony containing wisdom values in an effort to love the environment. As well as giving a general description of how the role of the Angkola traditional leaders through traditional ceremonies so that the local wisdom of the Angkola custom is known in an effort to love the environment. The method used is a qualitative method with anthropological and phenomenological approaches. The results of this study are: a) The introduction of the plant lexicon early on, b) The use of the plant lexicon as a philosophical character according to the plant lexicon, c) The local wisdom of Angkola's custom in the effort to love the environment is an education of cultural characteristics through the plant lexicon used in the plant lexicon custom.
Pelatihan teknik membaca cepat (Skimming dan Scanning) bagi siswa kelas XI jurusan Teknik Komputer dan Jaringan di SMK Swasta Yapim Biru-Biru, merupakan pelatihan yang bertujuan untuk memaksimalkan kemampuan siswa dalam membaca teks berbahasa Inggris dan mempermudah mereka dalam menjawab soal-soal yang berhubungan dengan teks tersebut. Subjek pelatiha ini merupakan siswa kelas XI SMK Swasta Yapim Biru-Biru, jurusan Teknik Komputerdan Jaringan. Adapun metode pelatihan yang digunakan pada pelatihan ini berupa metode ceramah, yaitu pemaparan materi pelatihan yang nantinya menjadi tolak ukur keberhasilan pelatihan dilakukan. Adapun beberapa instrumen penunjang seperti laptop, kamera, projector dan teks cetak, menjadi bagian penting dalam pelaksanaan pelatihan. Hasil dari pelatihan menggunakan teknik membaca cepat (skimming dan scanning) menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan membaca siswa khususnya membaca teks berbahasa Inggris, hal ini dapat diketahui dengan suksesnya siswa menyelesaikan soal-soal yang berhubungan dengan teks bacaan yang disedikan dalam bahasa Inggris.
This study aims to: 1) Analyze the application of integrated learning model of type connected in reminding creativity and students' learning ability; 2) Analyze student response after application of connected learning model; 3) Evaluate students' creativity and learning ability after applied learning model. This research was conducted at University of Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara. The study was conducted in two years. The first year starts . Data are collected from observations and questionnaires. Data analysis is done by finding mean, mastery, ability and creativity of students. The results showed that integrated learning method type connected can increase creativity, generate positive responses to learning and improve student learning ability.
