El fraude en los estados financieros representa una grave amenaza para los usuarios de la información financiera. Desde la investigación científica se propone el uso de modelos capaces de detectar una posible distorsión en la presentación de la información financiera. Con el propósito de identificar la posible manipulación de los estados financieros en empresas colombianas se realiza la aplicación del modelo Beneish M-score. La investigación se desarrolló bajo un enfoque cuantitativo, con un nivel de profundización descriptiva no experimental. El modelo de puntaje M. se aplicó a 274 empresas, donde los resultados evidencian indicios de una posible manipulación en los estados financieros en las empresas analizadas. Estos hallazgos revelan la existencia de posibles esquemas contables fraudulentos en empresas colombianas.
El objetivo es identificar las oportunidades y desafíos que enfrenta la colaboración científica para Latinoamérica, a través de las revistas científicas digitales bajo parámetros abiertos (Open Access, OA). Se inicia con el impacto de la tecnología en la internacionalización de la educación superior, señalando los límites en la construcción y circulación del conocimiento. Bajo una investigación exploratoria, se utiliza una metodología de tipo cualicuantitativa sobre las bases de datos de Latindex (Sistema Regional de Información en Línea para Revistas Científicas de América Latina, el Caribe, España y Portugal) y Web of Science para comparar la información disponible y fuentes secundarias que analizan redes de coautoría. Los resultados muestran un crecimiento exponencial de las publicaciones OA en las últimas décadas, con fuerte dominio del idioma inglés.

El presente artículo de reflexión pretende dar cuenta de la posible relación entre la caída de los precios del petróleo y el desempleo inherente a la teoría de salarios de eficiencia, los cuales se pagan en el sector petrolero en Barrancabermeja. Para esto, se parte de la pregunta: ¿Fue la caída de los precios del petróleo o el tipo de salarios pagados en el sector petrolero los que afectaron la economía en Barrancabermeja después de 2014? Para responderla, se realiza un análisis descriptivo apoyado en la investigación realizada en 2017 sobre este tema por Gutiérrez, Nauzan y García, presentando diferentes evidencias sobre las altas tasas de desempleo y los cambios en los precios del petróleo.
