Un enfoque empresarial U N I V E R S I D A D S I M Ó N B O L Í V A R RESUMEN Esta investigación determina un esquema general de la competitividad desde un enfoque cuantitativo, que tiene como propósito destacar cómo la competitividad, a través de una evaluación cuantitativa, permite a las empresas tomar decisiones puntuales de los sectores en actividad empresarial para mejorar sus procesos y poder desarrollarla de forma óptima y obtener una posición ventajosa en el mercado. El presente estudio basó sus aspectos metodológicos en un enfoque cuantitativo a través de una investigación de tipo documental bibliográfica, debido al análisis crítico y reflexivo para determinar la relación entre la competitividad y una fórmula sencilla, que permitiera lograr una visión clara y concisa acerca de cómo se construye la capacidad competitiva de una firma. Como conclusión, se evidenció que lo cuantitativo aporta a través de una mayor comprensión del desempeño competitivo, una explicación de la competitividad, teniendo en cuenta los factores centrales implicados, la posibilidad de dar un tratamiento matemático a lo competitivo con técnicas estadísticas como métodos multivariados para llegar a fondo en lo que se refiere a la capacidad competitiva y la formulación de una estrategia competitiva de alta efectividad.
