Una adecuada alimentación y cuidados durante el embarazo, son cruciales para evitar el desarrollo de las anemias en los recién nacidos, después del nacimiento la lactancia materna exclusiva hasta al menos los meses de edad es vital para reducir los riesgos de padecer anemia, asociado claro está a una buena alimentación después de los 6 meses de edad. La metodología de la investigación, es de tipo revisión bibliográfica. Las conclusiones más importantes es que los factores de riesgo están asociados a malnutrición, padecimientos de anemia por parte de la mujer embarazada, bajo peso del neonato al nacer o prematuridad. Sin embargo los tratamientos están orientados a subir los niveles de hierro ya sea por vía oral o intravenosa, dependiendo del tipo de paciente, la alimentación es fundamental también ya que hay alimentos que tiene alto contenido de hierro.
¿Qué es la epidemiología? ¿Qué es un diseño de investigación? ¿Cuál es la importancia del diseño en los estudios epidemiológicos? Estas preguntas son frecuentes y ocupan la atención tanto de estudiantes como de profesionales de distintas áreas de la salud interesados en el estudio de la epidemiología y la investigación en el ámbito epidemiológico. El libro que lleva por título: “Diseños de investigación epidemiológica, conceptos generales, herramientas y métodos”, ofrece al lector interesado una respuesta breve y de fácil lectura, académicamente rigurosa a estas y otras interrogantes sobre diversos tópicos relacionados con la investigación en el campo de la salud y especialmente en la epidemiología como rama especifica de la ciencia médica. En general los objetivos perseguidos por la investigación médica son dos: a) determinar las causas y factores etiológicos de la enfermedad y, b) evaluar la eficacia de un tratamiento farmacológico o intervención clínica para conocer su efecto sobre la historia natural de la enfermedad. Investigación Médica Estos grandes objetivos de la investigación médica solo pueden lograrse aplicando el diseño de estudio adecuado. El diseño es la estrategia metodológica que emplea el investigador para responder apropiadamente a la pregunta: ¿Cómo se logran los objetivos de la investigación? En este sentido, el diseño señala lo que el investigador debe hacer para alcanzar los objetivos formulados en el estudio. De ahí que el diseño desempeñe un rol esencial en la fundamentación y desarrollo de la investigación epidemiológica. Sin duda, la validez y fiabilidad de un estudio epidemiológico radica en la calidad de su diseño.
Dentro del equipo de profesionales de la salud que interviene en las cirugías, el puesto del anestesiólogo destaca pues de él depende el control del dolor, el sueño inducido y la inmovilidad del paciente, lo cual constituye la posibilidad misma de realizar la operación sin los inconvenientes que acarrearía la reacción sensible de la persona intervenida. En la medida en que se perfeccionan y desarrollan nuevas técnicas y procedimientos en anestesia, han crecido las exigencias del anestesiólogo como integrante clave del equipo quirúrgico. No se trata únicamente de que existen diversas sustancias o fármacos que cumplen con los efectos deseados en el paciente, sino también que se hace cada vez más complejo y delicado manejar las técnicas y herramientas de la anestesia, cuya mala administración puede acarrear consecuencias fatales. La palabra “anestesia” procede de la palabra griega “an + aisthesia”, que significa literalmente “sin ninguna sensación”. La historia del uso de este término se remonta a los antiguos griegos. De hecho, la palabra como tal figura en las obras del filósofo Platón; pero, en la época moderna, la primera vez que fue introducido el término, por Oliver Wenndell, fue en 1846, para describir el sueño producido por el éter.
