This study aims to analyzes the factor that influence the decision of married women in West Sumatera. Data used is based on the national socio-economic survey in 2016. The research population is married women in West Sumatera. The research sample is 8842 married women. By using a logistic regression model. The result of the study show that together education, poverty, and residental areas have a significant effect on the decision of married women in West Sumatera with a Pseudo R2 value of 12,15%. This study aims to analyze the influence of factors (X1) Education on poverty, (X2) Job Status on poverty, (X3) Number of Dependents on poverty, in West Sumatra. This study uses the logistic regression method. The sample used was taken from poor households based on the gender of the head of the household in West Sumatra. This study uses the Susenas data of West Sumatra Province in 2016. The results of the study show that (1) Education has a significant effect on poverty. (2) Employment Status has a significant effect on poverty. (3) The amount of dependents has a significant effect on poverty. (4) Taken together there is a significant influence between Education, Job Status, and Amount of Dependence on poverty in West Sumatra. From the results of research, poverty and gender generally have a positive relationship or relationship. Especially for households headed by women. Households headed by women are considered to be poorer than households headed by men. hence the need for special attention from the government so that poverty reduction efforts give priority to women and reduce gender inequality. So that women no longer tend to be poor.
This study aims to examine the effect of Minimum Wage, Economic Growth, Population and Inflation on Income Inequality of Provinces in Sumatra Island. This type of research is descriptive, the data used are secondary data and panel data from 2013 to 2020 in 10 provinces on the island of Sumatra. Using panel regression analysis method with Random Effect Model method. The results of the study concluded that the minimum wage variable had a significant negative effect on income inequality, while economic growth, population and inflation had a positive and negligible effect on income inequality. Based on the findings in this study, the policy that can be suggested by the government is to distribute income in each region in order to reduce inequality between regions.
West Sumatra is one of the Province in Indonesia that has potential of marine resources both public and marine waters. However, this potential has not been optimally managed so as not to contribute significantly to the welfare of the people and economic growth of West Sumatra Province. This analysis is aimed to produce a policy or strategy of marine fishery-based regional development in West Sumatra Province. The results of the study show that the leading commodities of marine fishery of West Sumatra Province were (1). species of small pelagic fish comprise of torpedo fish, talang-talang, bigeye, anchovy, greenstripe scad, yellowstripe scad and mackerel, (2). species of big pelagic fish comprise of selendang shark, frigate tuna, cowboy shark, indo-pacific king mackerel, bottle shark, black marlin, sail fish and mouse shark/monkey shark; (3). species of damersal fish comprose of senuk, peperek, large head hair tail, nomei/lomei fish, kapas-kapas, jenaha, gaji fish and giant trevally, and (4). species of coral fish are kerapu balong, kerapu Karang, yellow tail fish, and napoleon fish.
This study aims to analyze the impact of (1) wife's education (2) family planning (3) wife's age (4) husband's work status (5) wife's work status (6) household income (7) mortality (8) residence to fertility early age couples in Sijunjung Regency. The data analysis tool used is logistic regression using 2017 Susenas data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The study population was households that married at an early age and had children. The sample used was 226households categorized as having more than 2 children and small children with 2 children. The hypothesis test used is the G test and the Wald test with a real level of 10%. The results of the Logistic Regression found that family planning, type of wife's age, household income, and mortality had an influence on the fertility of early age couples in Sijunjung District. Therefore, the community is expected to conduct a marriage at a mature and productive age so that there are no future problems that result in high fertility. Because when households have more than 2 children there are economic problems that affect poverty and population density in Sijunjung District.
