Covid-19 has affected all age groups, although it appears to be milder in the pediatric population than adults. Covid-19 is a group of viruses that can cause disease, both in humans and in animals, in humans it can cause respiratory tract infections. Hand washing is one of the sanitation measures by cleaning hands and fingers using water and soap to be clean. The method in implementing this service goes through several stages, namely first, by reviewing the location to be addressed and then conducting discussions with the management. After being given education and application of hand washing, it was found that 11 people or 73.3% understood. Most school-age children already understand about COVID-19 and the application of hand washing after being given education. Covid-19 telah memengaruhi semua kelompok usia, meskipun tampaknya lebih ringan pada populasi anak daripada orang dewasa. Covid-19 adalah kelompok virus yang bisa menyebabkan penyakit, baik itu pada manusia maupun pada hewan, pada manusia bisa menyebabkan infeksi saluran pernafasan. Cuci Tangan adalah salah satu tindakan sanitasi dengan membersihkan tangan dan jari-jemari menggunakan air dan sabun untuk menjadi bersih. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini untuk memberikan edukasi pada anak usia sekolah tentang covid - 19 dan penerapan cuci tangan. Metode dalam pelaksanaan pengabdian ini melalui beberapa tahapan yaitu pertama, dengan meninjau lokasi yang akan dituju dan selajutnya melakukan diskusi dengan pengurus. Hasil setelah diberikan edukasi dan penerapan cuci tangan didapatkan sudah paham sebanyak 11 orang atau 73,3%, terdapat peningkatan sudah paham kepada anak usia sekolah setelah diberikan edukasi. Pemahaman covid-19 dan penerapan mencuci tangan dapat diterapkan secara terus menerus guna memutus mata rantai penyebaran covid-19.
About 15% of the total population of Semarang City does not get any waste management service. The lack of the infrastructure for collecting and processing waste, transportation, and disposal of the waste in the unserved area is believed to be the causes of the problem. As a result, incineration becomes the solution chosen for some people. Unfortunately, incineration has adverse effects. The ash produced by the incineration contains pollutants. To reduce the ash, the pollutant control devices that can be applied to the incinerator are needed. It is also necessary to monitor air quality emissions to find out the ash opacity value of burning material. The modification into two variations was carried out to determine the performance of the incinerator. The first system variation uses the principle of spreading water on the ash produced by the incineration. While the second system variation uses the principle of passing the ash in the submerged water. The composition of the waste burned in the incinerator was 38.115% leaves, 3.458% branches, and 20.475% food scraps. The measurement of the opacity value is done at the inlet and outlet of the incinerator.
Bio-drying is a technology used to reduce water content in waste using microorganisms that naturally increase the temperature in the decomposition process. With this process, the water content can drop more within a month. Bio-drying produces a product in the form of Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) which is produced from partially degraded waste. To obtain a waste that is not fully stabilized and maintains a high biomass content, degradation of organic compounds is carried out partially. During the bio drying process, temperature affects the degradation process. Temperature affects the bio drying, which will also affect the bio drying product that is indicated by the value of water content. Therefore, in this study, the change of process parameters will be explained, which is in the form of temperature and water content, that is caused by the difference in the air discharge entering the reactor (0, 2, 4, and 6 l/m) with the initial water content of 60%-65%. After 30 days, the optimum airflow is 4 l/m with a decrease in water content of 58.29%; on the last day of the bio drying process (30th day).
