We propose an advanced in-cell touch (AIT) sensor integrated on TFT substrate. The proposed touch sensor perceives selfcapacitance formed between touching object and sensing electrode which is made by common electrode of AH-IPS panel. This new touch sensor shows above 50dB-signal-to-noise ratio and multi-touch function without loss of transmittance. Finally we have succeeded in in-cell touch panel development of 15.6" FHD for notebook PC and 7" WVGA for automotive which supports 2mm-thick glove touch.
Projected capacitive type touch sensor is getting to expand its territory from mobile applications to NBPC because of its several merits such as soft touch, multi-touch and high transparency. An emergence of Windows 7 triggers the needs of projected capacitive touch for NBPC. LG display developed on-cell projected capacitive type touch sensor for 13.3" NBPC and acquired the certification of Microsoft Windows 7 logo for the first time of the world in In-cell type touch LCD.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
