Active methodologies emerged with the aim of bringing students to the center of the teaching and learning process, placing them in the condition of subjects of the educational process and having the teacher as a mediator. This article aimed to make a panorama the academic production scientific articles on active methodologies in Science Teaching published between 2010 and 2019. The research revealed that all the authors of the articles were linked to Brazilian educational institutions, and that the majority worked in the North region. Two active methodologies stood out: problem solving and hybrid teaching. In carrying out their research, the authors used various means to propose activities anchored in active methodologies, with emphasis on the use of Digital Technologies of Information and Communication. Diverse contents of Science were worked, with a prevalence for issues involving environmental problems and themes related to the health area.
