Urea derivatives Q 0640Novel Steroid Mimics Directed Towards the Estradiol Skeleton. -Tetra-and trisubstituted ureas of type (IX)/(XIV) are synthesized in order to evaluate possible estrogenic properties. -(BRIDGEMAN, E.; CAVILL, J. L.; SCHOFIELD, D. J.; WILKINS, D. S.; TOMKINSON*, N. C. O.; Tetrahedron Lett. 46 (2005) 49, 8521-8524; Sch. Chem., Cardiff Univ., Cardiff CF1 3TB, UK; Eng.) -Mais 10-104
Dicobaltbisnorbornadienetetracarbonyl, [Co 2 (nbd) 2 (CO) 4 ] DDTC, (nbd = norbornadiene) which has previously been reported to be unreactive with alkynes is shown to react with oxygen-containing alkynes; in the presence of other alkenes crossover reaction is seen which has important implications for the mechanism of this, and possibly other, reactions.
Fused phenylcycloalkyl derivatives Q 1040 Dicobaltbisnorbornadienetetracarbonyl [Co2(nbd)2(CO)4] Reacts with Oxygen--Containing Alkynes and Gives Crossover Products in the Presence of OtherAlkenes. -Whereas the cobalt complex gives no Pauson-Khand reaction with alkynes, it reacts with oxygen-containing substrates to give addition products of type (III). In the presence of norbornene (VI), the crossover product (VII) is also observed. The results are of importance for the discussion of the reaction mechanism. -(COOGAN*, M. P.; WILKINS, D. S.; J. scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
