Lemongrass is still limited in use, namely more often for cooking ingredients. Lemongrass contains bioactive compounds that are beneficial to the body. This study aims to determine the quality of instant lemongrass powder drink with foam mat drying method. The method used in the study of instant lemongrass powder is the experimental design used was a factorial randomized block design (RAK) consisting of 2 factors, namely the concentration of maltodextrin (15%, 20%, and 30%) and the concentration of Tween80 (0.3% and 0 , 4%) so we get 6 treatment combinations. Each treatment was carried out 5 repetitions so that 30 trials were obtained. The tests included physicochemical (antioxidant, water content test, total dissolved solids, color test) and organoleptic tests (color, aroma, and taste). Data analysis was carried out using ANOVA. If significantly different, then proceed by using the Least Significant Difference test (BNT), organoleptic test using Friedman and to find the best treatment. The best results were found in the treatment of maltodextrin percentage 15% and tween 0.3% details of the results as follows: characteristics as follows color 3.04 (neutral / ordinary), aroma 3.6 (neutral / ordinary) and taste 4.12 (neutral / normal).
Play an important role in the growth and stabilization of the Indonesian economy (SMEs). However, SMEs are not ready, because there is still low access to markets and a lack of reliable human resources (there are still many SMEs unable to categorize their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) so that they are unable to create strategies to develop their business. The purpose of this study was to analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats as well as to determine the strategy to increase the power of jackfruit chips SMEs in Malang Regency. The research location is in Malang Regency. Data collection obtained from 25 respondents who are owners of the jackfruit chips SMEs in Malang Regency. The technique of data analysis using the SWOT matrix determines the priority strategies for increasing the competitiveness of jackfruit chips in Malang Regency. The results showed that efforts to improve the competitiveness of the jackfruit chips SMEs in Malang Regency could be carried out with the following strategic priorities: the best strategies to use strength to take advantage of existing opportunities are; 1) increasing the quality of jackfruit chips according to SNI, because products that have advantages do not use preservatives, 2) expanding the location of jackfruit chips marketing by utilizing technological advances for product promotion so that sales increase, 3) improving employee skills by conducting training accompanied by related institutions (government and educational institutions), 4) increase the number of jackfruit chips production by determining the selling price according to the quality produced by innovating in each production process.
Murbei adalah tanaman tahunan yang pada bagian buah yang memiliki zat aktif antosianin sebagai antioksidan. Tanaman murbei juga memiliki senyawa-senyawa penting yang menguntungkan bagi kesehatan manusia, yaitu, cyanidin yang berperan sebagai antosianin, insoquercetin, sakarida, asam linoleat, asam stearat, asam oleat, dan vitamin (B1, B2, C). The results of spawning in sangkuriang catfish farming do not always go according to the expected results, as many eggs died before hatcing. Therefore, it is necessary to use spawning hormones which can improve egg quality in order to increase profits in cultivation. This research was aimed to determine the difference on success performance of sangkuriang catfish using HCG, Ovaprim, and Spawnprim. This research used a randomized block design (RAK) with 3 treatments i.e P1 (HCG 500 IU/kg), P2 (Ovaprim 0,5 ml/kg), P3 (Spawnprim 0,5 ml/kg) and 3 groups of repetition i.e K1 (spawning group day-1), K2 (spawning group day-2), and K3 (spawning group day-3). The results of this research showed that using Ovaprim hormone had the highest value than other treatments like on latent time 606±17,78 minutes, egg fertilization percentage 75±2,65%, and egg hatching percentage 69,33±5,69%. Then on egg fecundity and egg diameter showed no significant effect with other treatments.
Betta (Betta sp.) is an anabantidae fish with sexual development that can be directed at the embryonic and larval stages. One way to direct the sex development of these fish is by using hormone therapy using natural ingredients. Coconut water is one of the natural ingredients that can be used because it contains high potassium. This potassium can convert cholesterol in fish body tissue to pregnenolone which will affect the increase in testosterone production. This study aims to determine the best dose and age group in directing the sex of Betta fish experimentally using a randomized block design (RBD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The immersion treatment of larvae in the age group of 3 days, 5 days, and 7 days for 15 hours with a dose of 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% coconut water was carried out in a 3 L jar containing 30 larvae. The results showed that coconut water was able to influence the increase in the percentage of male betta fish (P <0.05) with the highest value at a dose of 30% as much as 86.26 ± 8.34% and the 3 day larvae age group of 72.78 ± 16.03, and have a different effect on other treatments. In addition, the survival calculated after immersion shows a value of 100%, meaning that coconut water does not have a harmful effect on fish. Based on the results of this study, the best treatment for directing the sex of betta fish is a dose of 30% coconut water with the 3 day age group
