El objetivo fue evaluar el rendimiento de producción de biodiesel a partir de aceite de soja usado para un mejor aprovechamiento de los aceites usados por el método de transesterificación, se evaluaron el Óxido de Calcio (2 y 6%) y la Relación Molar de etanol: aceite (9:1 y 15:1). Se planteó un diseño experimental factorial 22 con cinco puntos centrales para evaluar el efecto de los parámetros relación molar etanol: aceite y el porcentaje de concentración de Óxido de Calcio en el rendimiento de biodiesel. El rendimiento mayor de biodiesel fue de 60.9%, con relación molar 15:1 etanol: aceite y concentración de óxido de calcio 6%. Cabe señalar que se podría optimizar este rendimiento aplicando la metodología de superficie respuesta, la viscosidad fue de 8,70 centistokes, resultado que estuvo cercano a la norma ASTM D6751-09. Por último, las variables de control con relaciones molares mayores a 15:1 y concentraciones de catalizador próximas al 6%, son aplicables para optimizar el rendimiento de producciones del biodiesel.
