Обоснована необходимость применения в плоских кровлях, где всегда существует опасность проникновения капельной влаги внутрь конструкции, теплоизоляции, имеющей малое водопоглощение и стойкость, характеризующуюся сохранением механических и теплофизических свойств, в агрессивных средах и при увлажнении. В качестве такого материала предложен экструзионный пенополистирол-теплоизоляционный полимерный материал с равномерно распределенными замкнутыми ячейками. Изделия используются как плитная изоляция, а специальные изделия-для формирования уклонов и отвода паровоздушной смеси или капельной влаги. Представлен анализ литературы и результаты исследований, посвященные моделированию и изучению процессов гидродинамики в пористом слое. Отмечено, что корректность данных процессов основана на правильном выборе модели движения вязкой жидкости в пористой среде. Определены параметры оценки свойств высокопористого волокнистого материала, основной из которых-сопротивление движению потока воздуха, которое может быть оценено по величине гидравлического сопротивления, параметра, включающего и характеристики газовой среды. Газовая среда является фактором технологического воздействия на материал в процессе тепловой обработки и параметром оптимизации этого процесса, что важно учитывать для экономии тепла, расходуемого на теплоснабжение зданий.
